Planting and sharing my flowers has provided purpose and productivity during this major shift in my life and career. I have taken matters into my own hands to accommodate my needs, since my injury. The peace and joy I have found in flowers has surpassed beauty. Initially, looking at a bouquet was the peak of my day, when I could not read, watch tv or carry on a conversation. Sitting and potting in the shade under a tree was a healthy continuation of recovery, graduating to sitting in the dirt and transplanting and walking through the garden to view the daily changes of the blooms. Now, I am able to do much more, by the grace of God. Beginning this first year with flower subscriptions and evolving in what we hope will be a haven of prayer, nature and creativity in the finger lakes in the years to follow.
